Our Client is a leading airline, flying to over 40+ international destinations in 26 countries spread over 4 continents.
In-flight medical emergencies can happen anytime due to injuries or underlined health state. If a medical emergency occurs in the air, access to care is limited. Passenger health and safety are paramount, hence our client required all cabin crew and ground staff members to adequately train to become a first responder whenever such a need arises.
Our client’s cabin crew does get training in first aid and limited medical assistance, but they surely are not qualified to deal with all potential situations. It is considered paramount that cabin crew should be able to figure out and invoke emergency response protocols already in place for actions to be taken in the event of an onboard medical emergency. Strict and timely adherence to these protocols can ensure the best possible outcome for the situation at hand.
KS created an Emergency Medical Response (EMR) mobile learning app for the client wherein the EMR manual got converted into digital lessons. While the manual was available anytime for reference in the app, every week a 1-minute scenario video and a 1-minute resolution response video were pushed through the app around different emergency response situations. Crew members could consume these videos at their leisure. Once completed, they were required to draw a mind map in the app to address the situation shared during the week. The mind map exercise helped reinforce the concept and helped instructors identify the learning gaps and take necessary remediation.
An early-stage analysis shows better adherence to emergency response protocols by crew members in emergencies.
The L&D department has gained valuable insights into learning gaps, thus driving more targeted learning efforts and reducing the EMR training cost by 12%.
